What is the BFF Program?

The Bayanihan for Farmed Animals (BFF) Program is dedicated to protecting farmed animals during disasters and disease outbreaks. It focuses on preparedness, welfare, and empowering communities to take action.

Why It Matters

Farmed animals often suffer during disasters and disease outbreaks due to a lack of preparedness. The BFF Program works to ensure they receive the care and protection they deserve.

How do we do this?

  • Improve preparedness: Strengthen disaster and disease protection measures for farmed animals.

  • Collaborate: We partner with farmers, communities, LGUs, and experts to improve biosecurity.

  • Educate and engage: We raise awareness and train communities on protecting farmed animals from infectious diseases and disasters.

Program Updates

  • Partnership with Capiz State University on a research study on Swine Welfare. GAHP

  • Consultation with the DA - Bureau of Animal Industry Region VI and smallholder farmers in the region.

  • Presentation and discussion with the Provincial Veterinarian’s Office of Iloilo for possible partnership in their repopulation in 14 barangays

  • We are part of Asia for Animals Coalition which aims to promote One Health in the Pandemic Treaty negotiations.

  • Presentation at The National ASF Prevention and Control Program Unit of the Bureau of Animal Industry for possible collaboration.

  • Presentation at the Farm Animal Coalition Regional Event Philippines 2024 hosted by the Animal Kingdom Foundation.
